- Project Management
Larger project management arrangements typically provide for the appointment of a contractor to undertake a project or series of projects for the principal, for example a building project or the recovery and refloating of a sunken ship.
A particular project may typically consist of a number of disparate tasks that each have their own demands and time schedules and where the failure to complete one task on time may severely impact on the successful completion of the project.
The project manager (which is usually a company but may also be an individual) normally has a relatively large scope of discretion in deciding how the project will be executed.
Project management contracts therefore have unique elements over and above the construction dimensions thereof.
